Gentle Flow includes traditional yoga postures for warming up the body followed by breath work and meditations, then ending with a healing gong to balance the nervous system for an overall feeling of relaxation.
Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is the “yoga of awareness.” A practice that awakens the inner power that exists in every human to create self mastery and joy.
There are three basic components to Kundalini Yoga.
- The physical postures of Kriyas (exercise sets) that strengthen the nervous system and balance the glandular system for optimum physical and emotional health.
- Breathing Techniques (pranayam) to help in processing emotions and feelings relieving stress and develop concentration.
- Mantra (sound) and meditation techniques that work to direct and discipline the mind.
Kundalini Yoga is based on neuroscience that changes the neuro-pathways between the body and the brain. You will learn powerful tools for developing ones intuition, vitality, and connectivity, taking us beyond the mind to where we can follow our hearts.
There is no power on this planet greater than the Word. It is by the power of Word that all things seen and unseen have been created. Sound keeps the universe in balance. It has the ability to heal and revitalize the autonomic nervous system; it facilitates a merger with our soul and the boundless energy and creativity within. Through listening to or chanting mantras, you can move from darkness to light, from negativity to positivity. Mantras create a healing flow of love and radiant shield of protection. This class includes a yoga set, pranayam (breathing exercises) meditation with mantra, and teachings on how to use the technology of mantra and sound to deepen your yoga meditation practice.
All meditation and yoga classes can be done sitting in a chair.
